Asian Student Association (ASA)

Description

The Asian Student Association was created to make a safe space and learning environment for people who identify as Asian and/or want to know more about Asian culture.?Club members are not required to be Asian American or Pacific Islanders. The club includes members of all races and promotes cultural awareness at Champlain College and throughout the 足彩胜负14场 community. The club meets on the first Wednesday of every month and hosts various events throughout the year.

Black Student Union

Description

Black Student Union (BSU) is a student-run group sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA) with a threefold mission: create a safe space and supportive environment for students of color to express their opinions, ideas, and cultures; increase awareness and appreciation for Black history, culture, and issues through educational events, cultural celebrations, and open and engaging conversations; and support and advocate for issues that affect our students of color.

CHAMP

Description

CHAMP is a student-run organization that plans and hosts exciting and spirit-filled events on campus each semester. All students are welcome to participate in CHAMP meetings and to volunteer as staff for CHAMP events. As a member of CHAMP, you are an integral part of the planning process–from brainstorming ideas to decorating and event execution. This club serves as a driving force for student involvement and engaging events! Our biggest celebrations of the year include: Spirit Week, the Halloween Dance, Late-Night Breakfast, the Snowball Dance, and Spring Meltdown.

Champlain College Dance Team

Description

The Champlain College Dance Team is a fun way for students to dance in college without the pressure of tryouts. Previous dance experience is appreciated, but is not required. We work on many fun and unique projects during the year and experiment with different dance styles. At the end of the year, there is an opportunity to perform at the annual Champlain College Dance Team (CCDT) Showcase, with original choreography from our members. We strive to have a positive and safe environment for everyone to be in their bodies comfortably while dancing.

Champlain Crochet

Description

Champlain Crochet is a space for people to de-stress and crochet in an easygoing but invigorating environment. Whether you’re an expert or know nothing about crochet, the club is a space for everyone to learn and support one another.

Bringing your own supplies is not required for participation, but is encouraged. We have yarn, crochet hooks, stitch markers, and yarn needles that club attendees can use.

Champlain Destiny

Description

The Champlain Destiny Club is an inclusive place for fans of the game “Destiny 2” to talk about and enjoy the game with fellow students. Over the semester, we host many events ranging from raid nights to in-game fashion contests on our discord server and sometimes in person. Champlain Outdoors

Description

The mission of our club is to foster a community of individuals who are eager to spend time out in nature. Whether it be hiking across the rolling hills of Vermont’s Green Mountains in a sea of fall colors, paddling through the lakes, creeks, and rivers of the New York Adirondacks, or gliding across the snow on a cross-country skiing trail, we are committed to getting you out there. Our trips vary in difficulty, ranging from casual day hikes simply meant for appreciating the beauty of the woods, to strenuous treks that will be a true test of endurance. Regardless of whether you consider yourself to be a casual hiker or a rugged adventurer, there is something here for you. Formerly known as the Champlain Hiking Club.

Champlain Ultimate Frisbee (Champlain Ultimate)

Description

Champlain Ultimate Frisbee welcomes players of all skill levels to join weekly pick-up games. We’re happy to teach new players! Description

Chicks On Sticks is a ski club at Champlain College composed of female-identifying and gender-non-conforming skiers and riders. Description

Chivomengro aims to publish a monthly zine of personal essays, satire, and cultural commentary. The staff loves to include graphically driven pieces, such as comics or graphic literature, that speak to the college experience.

Chivomengro stays true to its commitment to the writer—contributors have the freedom to submit what they want. The editorial team takes great pride in publishing essays on the human experience, including reviews of pop culture, music, movies, and satire pieces. Chivomengro highly encourages submissions from Champlain College students and remains open for reading on a rolling basis.

Climb Champlain

Description

Rock Climbing is a great way to de-stress after long days of studying and schoolwork. It’s also a great way to stay fit, meet new people, and exercise problem solving. Hearthlight is a club where students meet twice a week to engage in physical activities using foam props. The main activities include games such as capture the flag and red-light, green-light. Our Intramural Sports are run through the Office of Student Engagement and offer a diverse range of activities that cater to athletes of all levels and interests. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just looking to try something new, this is a great opportunity for you.

Dodgeball

• Mondays, 8:30–10:00 PM

• Drop in format, come with friends or by yourself. Compete all night or just for a few games. Dodgeball can be a great stress reliever!

• Drop in format. Futsol rules when indoors, but there will be outdoor games at local fields at times as well.

Ski & Ride

Description

Ski and Ride is an inclusive, community-building club for students interested in winter outdoor recreation. Our goal is to form a community in which people can learn to ski and ride in a safe and welcoming environment! Meet friends and form lasting memories with other Champlain students. We host events like general meetings, movie premieres, and shop nights. When the cold months bring snow, the club will transition to in-person, on-hill events, such as community ski days, learn-to-ski events, and our annual Rail Jam.

Our club is driven by a collective curiosity to explore the intricate artistry that makes horror movies so irresistibly captivating. Geared toward those with a penchant for the mysterious, the horrifying, and the thrilling, our aim is to dissect the essence of exceptional horror. Description

We are a completely student-run theater club that produces a show each semester. We are an audition-based club, but we also have positions in tech and encourage students to join our discord to keep informed about what opportunities we have open! The Grind

Description

The Grind is an open mic coffee house that provides a safe space for people to express themselves through performance. The audience can relax, meet new people, and spend time with friends. Every Wednesday from 9:00-11:30 PM in Fireside Lounge, there is a player’s sheet; it’s first to sign-up, first to play. We have a sound system and an electric piano for acoustic music. There’s always snacks/coffee available. Our goals are to provide a safe environment for creative expression and creative community and to create an environment that develops and nurtures our performers.

Willard & Maple

Description

Willard & Maple is Champlain’s student-run literary magazine, publishing annual issues that feature visual art, poetry, short fiction, and nonfiction. Its mission is to broadcast the diverse and powerful voices in the Champlain community out to the world.

Willard & Maple accepts submissions from the Champlain community. Guidelines for submissions are on its website, as is a link to W&M’s Submittable page. Willard & Maple staff engage in a democratic voting process to determine acceptances.

The Willard & Maple office is not a traditional college-magazine workplace. Students completely take charge of the editorial process, and the review board for submissions is entirely composed of young writers. Nobody’s here to pour coffee and punch copy.

Description

Women In Games (W.I.G.) is a club that was created to show the value that women, femme-identifying, non-binary professionals, and allies hold within the Game Studio at Champlain College. By providing its members with access to technology, and conducting professional development workshops with keynote guest speakers, there is an elimination of any barriers that may be held within the industry. W.I.G. at Champlain College works with two organizations, Women in Games International (W.I.G.I.) as well as the Women In Games (W.I.G.) based out of the UK.
